Taking inspiration from retro gaming themes, we recreated a classic concept in a Wimbledon world by modelling our interactive game on a much-loved standard: Brick Out. We gave an 8-bit pixel style makeover to the famous All England Club, which resulted in a light-hearted game that gave fans a smile and the opportunity to nevertheless live the Championships.
The challenge for us was to create a certain emotion and a sense of belonging through this game, and we capitalized on the connection of British people to traditions, as well as on the artistic and plot details: we staged each of the seven levels of the Championships, illustrating them by a different tennis court each time, that looked just like the real courts in Wimbledon. Every level unlocked prizes to win.
The AELTC trusted us from A to Z and our team designed, built, and executed the game entirely from France. We bet on audacity and it paid off. When the game went live, a lot of users played it and shared it. It became successful instantly, which is very rewarding.
The game is available on both iOS and Android platforms.
